Monte Palace Tropical Garden (Monte-Funchal)                              

The Monte Palace Tropical Garden is a multi-level garden with about 100,000 different plant species varied from exotic trees and flowers. But the reason why Monte Palace Garden is so unique and worth a visit is because it has way more to offer than only plants and trees! Within the garden is the Monte Palace Museum. Here you can see the exhibition of Zimbabwean sculptures and a unique collection of minerals from all over the world. Furthermore you can see the most important collections of Portuguese tiles from the 15th and 16th centuries. They are placed throughout the walkways and vegetation and represent social, cultural and religious events in the history of Portugal. 

Frederico de Freitas House's Museum

Frederico de Freitas house's museum is known for its striking red colour. It was acquired by Madeiran lawyer and collector Frederico de Freitas to display his valuable art collection, which he bequeathed to the Region upon his death (1978). Visitors to the museum can admire various collections of sculptures, engravings, paintings, furniture and glass, ceramic and metal objects that are on exhibit.  

Whale museum (Caniçal)

Ten years after the museum opened, a separate Casa de Azulejos was inaugurated. The structure was built to house a vast, eclectic collection of tiles, including Portuguese, Asian, medieval, majolica and Islamic pieces. Visitors can observe how this type of decorative covering evolved from its early beginnings until today.The wale museum was opened to the public in 1989 in the fishing village of Caniçal, the museum shows the history of whale hunting in the seas of Madeira.

Opened in a new building in September 2011, is equipped with a valuable ethnographic/museum collection, which retrieves utensils and past experiences. The museum is an accurate witness to the history of whaling in Madeira throughout the 20th century.

This museum houses life-size models of whales and dolphins and 3D stereoscopic movies. The institution also promotes scientific research projects on cetaceans and marine life in the seas of Madeira, as well as the collection, preservation and study of the heritage and documentation on the history of whaling in Madeira.

Phography Museum, Atelier Vicente's (Funchal)

The oldest photo studio in the country brings together a vast collection of sets, cameras and a photographic archive of about 800 thousand negatives.Established in 1848 by Vicente Gomes da Silva this studio was transformed later into a museum. Nowadays this museum is considered one of the most ancient photography studios in Portugal displaying photographic studio equipment grating visitors the opportunity to get to know in first hand photography scenarios, cameras, books depicting photography techniques apart from some photography furniture pieces.The Vicentes Photography Museum collections have enlarged due to acquisitions and donations by professional and amateur photographers, holding nowadays approximately 800 thousand photographic negatives in addition to a Cinematographic collection resultant from donations. 

CR7 Museum (Funchal)

Football star Cristiano Ronaldo chose Funchal, his birth place, to create a space to house his trophies. Visitors to the museum can see the 150 trophies he has won during his career, look at videos and photographs of highlights of his career, explore interactive content and take pictures with a wax figure of Cristiano Ronaldo - the fourth sculpture done of the star athlete. The big attractions here are the three Golden Balls and four Golden Boots won by the player.

Teixeira Family's Museum (Faial)

Anaclet Teixeira de Freitas was the founder of this magnificent and wonderful mini-village with beautiful gardens and surroundings. Each corner of the property was planned in passionate detail to honour his parents. The gardens, each room and each building tell us thousands of stories about his family. There, you can admire 20 palm trees from Egypt, Our Lady of Fatima Chapel, a genealogy tree dating from 1653 until today, 13 thousand pictures of the family, the wine house, the coat of arms of the family, bronze statues.....and so on. As soon as you enter you'll feel peace and love. 

Engenho Velho Museum (Porto da Cruz)

Built in the mid-sixteenth century, the structure that houses the present Museum Old Mill is located in Porto da Cruz, Madeira. This museologio core has as its main attraction, the oldest steam engine to squeeze sugarcane, installed, on display in Europe, dated 1857.

Electricity Museum (Funchal)

The Electricity Museum showcases an exhibition displayed in various thematic areas. The former Funchal Power Plant, inaugurated on June 1897 by the first electricity company in Madeira, the Madeira Electric Lighting Company Limited, was only finally decommissioned in 1989 and has housed since the Casa da Luz Museum.
